Technica Opens Singapore Facility
Sensor and filter developer Technica Optical Components LLC has established a new fiber Bragg grating (FBG) manufacturing facility and advanced technologies center in Singapore.
The new operation, Technicasa Singapore Pvt. Ltd., is equipped with femtosecond laser stations, nanoscale positioning, micromachining equipment and advanced proprietary fiber processing technologies.
"Demand for FBG sensors is growing in energy, security, transportation, structural health monitoring, civil engineering, medical, industrial and other fields,” said Andrei Csipkes, president and CEO of Technica. “Immune to electromagnetic interference, small, light, multiplexible and highly reliable, our new generation of FBG sensors, FBG sensing arrays and FBG sensing cables support monitoring and controlling industrial and commercial processes, equipment and infrastructure. We are excited to significantly expand the envelope of commercially available fiber optic sensors.”
Technica is a developer, manufacturer and provider of FBG sensors and filters, FBG array sensors in acrylate, polyimide and gold coated fibers, as well as FBG cable sensors in steel and glass fiber reinforced polymers.
