Margolis Joins Bristol Instruments

Optical interferometer-based instrumentation developer Bristol Instruments Inc. has appointed Samuel Margolis as an R&D engineer.

Margolis holds a bachelor’s degree in glass engineering science from Alfred University and a master’s degree in optics from the University of Rochester. As part of his graduate studies, he worked on thin-film modeling at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. Prior to joining Bristol Instruments, Margolis was an optical engineer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Laboratory. In addition, he held the position of process engineer at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, working on silicon wafer processing and nickel electroforming. He also has prior experience at GE Global Research as a materials scientist.

“The addition of Mr. Margolis comes at an important time for Bristol Instruments,” said Michael Houk, vice president of engineering at Bristol Instruments. “With his capabilities and experience, we will be able to further expand our R&D efforts as we look to bring innovative new products to the marketplace.”

Bristol Instruments offers a variety of optical interferometer-based products for scientists and engineers who are interested in laser spectral characterization, wavelength division multiplexing testing or noncontact thickness measurement.
