Intevac Wins State Matching for Video Camera
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 5 -- The Photonics division of Intevac Inc. received a $194,000 grant agreement from the state of California for the development and demonstrationof a highly sensitive video camera.
The grant, given under the California technology investment partnership program, is a competitive grant program designed to assist California based companies that compete nationally for federal awards. The grant will be used to match funds given by the National institute of standards and technology. The state project will be managed by the Bay area regional technology alliance.
The aim of the project is to develop a new imaging sensor and automated assembly process that will aid in the manufacturing of the video camera. Upon completion, the cameras will be used by law enforcement markets and for security systems. Intevac and the enhanced solutions division of National Semiconductor will work together on the project.
