LightPath Technologies to Supply Collimators to Corning
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., May 31 -- LightPath Technologies Inc. received a $1.0-million contract from Corning Inc. to supply a customized collimator for Corning's PurePath Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS). The large-beam collimator, which combines laser-fusion with Gradium Glass lens technology, is scheduled for a series of deliveries between July 2000 and December 2000.
The collimator -- designed especially to meet Corning's requirement of a large diffraction-limited beam -- creates a beam diameter many times bigger than ordinary collimators while keeping high beam quality.
