Technology Spending Favors Telecom
JERICHO, N.Y., May 31 -- Based on a global survey of 2406 executives and managers who work in the telecom/network market, the average telecom/network professional will spend $7.1 million on technology equipment this year. This is 10 times what the average professional in a traditional computer technology field will spend this year according to the market researching firm Reality Research & Consulting
The researchers attribute the stilted averages to an increase in the demand for telecommunication networks. According to John DiStefano, manager of Internet Panels at Reality Research, the main beneficiaries of this spending will be: AT&T, MCI WorldCom, and Sprint.
