Innsbruck’s Zoller Awarded Ramsey Prize
The 2018 Norman F. Ramsey Prize, sponsored by laser developer Toptica Photonics AG, has been awarded to Peter Zoller at the Universität Innsbruck in Austria for his pioneering theoretical work on quantum computation, communication and simulation with trapped ions, atoms and molecules.
Established in 2016 by the American Physical Society (APS) the Norman F. Ramsey Prize recognizes outstanding accomplishment in atomic, molecular and optical physics and precision tests of fundamental laws and symmetries.
”Congratulations, Dr. Zoller, and thank you for your contributions to our community,” said said Mark Tolbert, CEO of Toptica. “It continues to be an honor to be a part of the Norman F. Ramsey Prize.”
Toptica Photonics develops, manufactures, services and distributes diode and fiber lasers and laser systems for scientific and industrial applications.
