Jenoptik Demonstrates Augmented Microscopy Platform
Jenoptik Optical Systems LLC has collaborated with Google on microscopy technology to assist pathologists in detecting cancer using deep learning. The technology brings AI to conventional microscopy through overlay of digital content directly into a commercial off-the-shelf microscope’s field of view.
Google has demonstrated modeling for tumor detection in histopathology slides for both prostate cancer and lymph nodes from breast cancer using the platform. They presented their results at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research.
Jenoptik designed and integrated the optomechanical technology, which was made possible by leveraging their systems engineering experience, optical R&D capabilities, and their portfolio of IP across a breadth of innovative applications and industries.
