Ophir’s Jerusalem Laboratory Obtains ISO/IEC Accreditation

Photonic technology developer Ophir Photonics has received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for its calibration laboratory in Jerusalem.

ISO/IEC 17025 is given to calibration laboratories that have achieved the highest standards of quality, administration, and technical operations. The scope of the accreditation covers Ophir's photodiode, pyroelectric, and thermopile laser power and energy sensors, as well as its power and energy displays and PC interfaces. Ophir's Jerusalem calibration laboratory joins its North Logan, Utah, laboratory in the accreditation, which improves the validity of test methods and provides the best traceability of measurements and calibrations to national standards.

"ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation validates Ophir's 40 years of dedication to the highest standards in the field of calibration of laser power and energy measurement and gives further confidence to customers of its NIST-traceable series of measurements," said Isabelle Okashi, general manager of Ophir Photonics Israel. "This is especially important for government and industrial organizations, such as manufacturers of medical or aerospace equipment, who are required to document the traceability and accuracy of the measurement equipment they use and integrate. Working with an ISO/IEC 17025 certified supplier eliminates the need for time-consuming audits by these organizations.”

Ophir’s product portfolio consists of laser and LED measurement products, including laser power and energy meters, laser beam profilers, high-performance IR and visible optical elements, IR thermal imaging lenses and zoom lenses, and more.
