Flir to Supply Cameras for Inspection
Flir Systems Inc. of Portland, Ore., has signed a $4.7 million deal to supply multispectral imaging camera systems to
Iris Systems of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Iris will use the cameras in a series of mobile infrared systems for the inspection of brakes, bearings and tires on commercial vehicles.
Iris will install the systems in 150 vans for
Thermal Standards Inc. of Arnprior, Ontario, Canada, which will use them to produce risk-management valuation data for insurance providers. Law enforcement and federal and state transportation inspection agencies have expressed interest in the potential use of the infrared systems to monitor and document commercial vehicle braking infractions.
