Lucent Orders $3.7-Million of Digital Lightwave's Network Computers
CLEARWATER, Fla., June 8 -- In order to bolster its field installation and testing capabilities, Lucent Technology has ordered $3.7 million-worth of Digital Lightwave Inc.'s OC-192 NIC 10G Network Information Computers. According to Digital Lightwave, shipments of the multi-unit order are expected to begin during the current quarter.
According to Lucent, the NIC 10Gs will be used to assist in the installation testing of the company's WaveStar OLS 400G DWDM systems. The WaveStar is a modular 80-channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing optical transmission system designed to increase fiber capacity and flexibility for optical networks.
