Data Translation Inc. Sees Second Quarter Loss
MARLBORO, Mass., June 22 -- Data Translation Inc. reported $3.9 million in total sales for the second quarter ended May 31, a 3.0 percent decline from $4.1 million in the same 1999 period. Net loss for this year's second quarter was $384,000 or $0.17 a share compared with a net income of $156,000 or $0.07 a share in the same 1999 period.
Total sales for the first two quarters of 2000 were $7.8 million compared with $7.9 million for the same 1999 period, a net loss of $361,000 or $0.16 a share for the six months ended May 31 compared with a net income of $258,000 or $0.12 a share in the same 1999 period.
Our development initiatives are producing results, said Fred Molinari, president and CEO of Data Translation. Our new products are top contenders with innovative technology for our markets. We believe that our new product plans will start to build momentum as our legacy products slowly decline.
