CBL Systems Acquires Raytheon Fiber Solutions Unit
HOPKINTON, Mass., June 23 -- CBL Systems Corp. has acquired a business unit of Raytheon Co. that manufactures fiber optic automated control systems. In an additional move, CBL Systems has named Brian D. Morrison, the former manager of the Raytheon unit, as its president and CEO. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CBL Systems, formerly Raytheon Control-By-Light, develops fiber optic technology applications that are capable of complementing or replacing conventional networking media.
CBL Systems will benefit greatly from the resources of Raytheon Company that have been acquired. These resources will give us a solid foundation and the momentum to operate successfully in the fiber-optic systems field, said Morrison.
