Stemmer Imaging Posts €109 M for 2018/2019 Fiscal Year

Stemmer Imaging AG has published its final figures for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, which show revenue grew 8.3% to €109 million, up from €100.6 million the prior year.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), adjusted for nonrecurring costs including the transition to International Financial Reporting Standards, the switch to the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in May 2019, and costs in connection with acquisition amounted to €10 million, compared with €10.6 million the previous year.

The company attributes the growth in revenue to regional diversification and growth into new markets such as sports and entertainment and medical. Incoming orders rose by 5.6% from €106.9 million to €112.9 million in fiscal year 2018/2019.

Earlier in the company’s fiscal year, the company expanded its market share in Europe with the acquisition of French machine vision supplier ELVITEC S.A.S. and Spanish machine vision software company Infaimon, and it invested in the Austrian technology developer Perception Park GmbH. The company also established a subsidiary in Bologna, Italy.

The company plans to simplify its financial reporting process by proposing that the fiscal year correspond with the calendar year. If the proposal is approved at the group’s annual general meeting in November, 2019 would be a short year, with the next full fiscal year beginning on Jan. 1, 2020.
