Berghof Group Acquires OptoPolymer
Berghof Fluoroplastic Technology, a subsidiary of the Berghof Group, has announced it has taken over the business activities of OptoPolymer. The acquisition, formalized July 1, will allow Berghof Fluoroplastics to expand its portfolio to include optical coatings with barium sulfate.
Since its founding in 2003, OptoPolymer has developed diffuse reflecting material, with optical applications for numerous industrial operation areas. These include reflection standards, coating material for integrating spheres, background lighting of displays, laser cavities, coating services, and optical measuring equipment.
“With this new addition, the Berghof Group is securing further valuable know-how and valuable contacts in the exciting photonics market of the future — in line with recently completed takeover of Gigahertz-Optik,” a July 20 press release said. Gigahertz-Optik develops optical radiation measurement equipment for use in the ultraviolet to near-infrared spectral range. The Berghof Group made that acquisition in March this year.
