Quntao Zhuang Receives DARPA Young Faculty Award

Quntao Zhuang, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the James C. Wyant School of Optical Sciences, has received a 2020 Young Faculty Award from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The award recognizes rising stars in junior research positions whose work can benefit the Department of Defense and issues of national security.

Zhuang is recognized for his research proposal “Distributed Quantum Sensor Networks Enhanced by Quantum Error Correction.” The project will focus on improving the ability of quantum sensors to perform in the face of noise and other error-causing imperfections.
