Konica Minolta Acquiring Specim
Konica Minolta Sensing Europe BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta, will acquire Specim, Spectral Imaging Ltd., a supplier of hyperspectral imaging solutions for applications in optics, optoelectronics, electronics, and machine vision. Specim is headquartered in Oulu, Finland, where the company will maintain its existing offices.
In a press release, Hitoshi Kamezawa, Konica Minolta’s Sensing Business Unit’s executive officer and general manager, said that as Konica Minolta addresses social responsibility changes, Specim’s assets in hyperspectral imaging will serve to contribute to Konica Minolta’s growth strategy, expanding its business into safety, security, and the environmental sciences. Konica Minolta acquired the Spanish company Eines Vision Systems SL, a developer of visual inspection systems and solutions for the automotive production process, in 2019.
The transaction is subject to closing conditions.
