New Jersey State Troopers to Use ImageWare Systems Technology
SAN DIEGO, July 6 -- New Jersey is replacing its current photo mug shot system with an integrated digital system provided by ImageWare Systems Inc. Such systems are already being used by such organizations as the New York City Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The Crime Capture System produces digital arrest records for people who get processed by the justice system. The digital image created by the system can be shared with other departments in the state, said ImageWare. ImageWare's Face ID product will also be used to give police a biometric identifier to match photos or composite images against their database of arrest records to help recognize suspects and individuals with various aliases.
We are very pleased to be selected by the state of New Jersey, said Jim Miller, chairman and CEO of ImageWare. The installation of ImageWare's Crime Capture System at the state wide level opens up the rich potential of the over 450 law enforcement agencies in the State of New Jersey to become ImageWare customers.
