MCT Reports $1.6 Million Order for Semiconductor Test Systems
ST. PAUL, Minn., July 7 -- Micro Component Technology Inc. has received an order for multiple Tapestry strip based test handlers with integrated SmartMark laser marking systems from Amkor Technology Inc. in Chandler, Ariz. The systems will be shipped by the end of September, said Micro Component Technology.
Integrating MCT's Tapestry and SmartMark creates tremendous capability for cost reduction in electrical test, said Tim Olson, Micro Component Technology's vice president of Infinity Systems. Electronic strip maps generated during testing allows immediate laser marking on each device so that strip test can fit within a conventional manufacturing line. The new process eliminates several material handling steps, reduces floor space and brings capability for massively parallel electrical testing.
