ClearWorks Broadens Metropolitan Area Fiber Network
HOUSTON, July 7 -- ClearWorks Communications Inc., a subsidiary of ClearWorks.net Inc., has extended its fiber-based metropolitan area network (MAN) to include the Texas residential areas of Rock Creek and Lakes of Eldridge. Fiber optics telecommunications to the combined 2,200 single-family homes is currently available and subscriber revenues are expected to increase right away, said ClearWorks.net.
This expansion adds to the 38 fiber miles currently deployed in the northwest quadrant of the Houston metropolitan area. The expansion eliminates the need to build separate head end facilities for the two communities, a saving of about $3 million, said the company.
This expansion of the fiber network is part of our deployment strategy and allows us to centralize into a single head end facility said Brian Mickelson, president of ClearWorks Communications. We believe that we can build a single facility for each metropolitan area that we deploy our services in, saving the Company considerable money.
The project will bring in revenues of $37 million and a gross profit of $21 million, said ClearWorks.net.
