CHEMNITZ, Germany — Industrial laser equipment manufacturer 3D-Micromac appointed Marko Gerlach CFO. He replaces Frank Jäger, who will remain with the company for a period of time to ensure a smooth transition. Since 2009, Gerlach has served in various roles at the Jenoptik Group. He has been responsible for Jenoptik’s operation accounting in Germany, which was centralized under his leadership.

BOSTON — Meta-optics company Metalenz named Brad MacMullin CFO, Richard Norton vice president of operations, and Pawel Latawiec vice president of design and computation. The expanded leadership will oversee the financial, operations, and design functions, respectively, to help bring Metalenz’s technology to the next generation of smartphones, automotive, and other consumer applications.

NEWPORT, Wales — CSconnected, the collective brand for advanced semiconductor-related activities in Wales, appointed Phillip Cornish development manager. Cornish will deliver the strategic development and business development activities underpinning the expansion of the compound semiconductor cluster across the South Wales region. He most recently served as director and co-founder of Stratium Ltd., a venture capital-backed university spinout business that manufactures QCLs for precision gas analysis applications.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Industrial inspection equipment developer Nanotronics appointed Alice Globus CFO, effective immediately. Prior to Nanotronics, Globus held the positions of CFO and investment committee chair for Globus Growth, a family office focused on innovative seed-stage companies in a variety of markets and for which she additionally served as a partner.

NORWICH, England — Scientific and astrophotography camera manufacturer Atik Cameras Ltd. appointed Panos Kapetanopoulos director. Formerly, he was engineering manager in production and development at Photek Ltd. He has more than 15 years of R&D experience.  

VILNIUS, Lithuania — The shareholders of LIGHT CONVERSION, a manufacturer of tunable wavelength femtosecond laser sources and diode-pumped solid-state femtosecond lasers, appointed its board of directors: Mario Cesari, chairman; Kristina Piskarskaite, vice chairman; and Lutz Aschke. Cesari previously held positions at McKinsey & Co. in Paris and Geneva and at private equity firms Berkshire Partners in Boston and Vestar Capital in Paris, and at Valeo in France and Asia. Piskarskaite serves as manufacturing industry lead at Invest Lithuania. Aschke is managing director of the Mahr Group and previously served as CFO of the laser division of the TRUMPF Group.
