Axion Biosystems, Photronics Name CEOs: People in the News: 05/18/22

Life science technology company Axion Biosystems appointed Kevin Gould CEO, effective immediately. Gould has more than 20 years of senior management experience in medical diagnostic sales and manufacturing and intends to build on Axion’s growth in stem cell research, immuno-oncology, cell-based therapies, and drug discovery. Gould takes over from company founder Tom O’Brien.

ST. GALLEN, Switzerland — FISBA AG has appointed Michael Huber as sales director for the EMEA sales region, succeeding Li Simon, who is leaving the company. Huber has been with the company for more than 13 years, most recently serving as business director of systems. He also served as managing director of FISBA North America in Tucson, Ariz.

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Photomask technology company Photronics named Frank Lee CEO. Lee will also join the company’s board of directors, along with Adam Lewis, who joins as an independent director. Lee was named as the company’s president in March. He succeeds Constantine Macricostas, who has served as interim CEO in addition to his role as chairman, which he retains.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Neonode will appoint Cecilia Edström to its board as a Class I director. Mattias Bergman will resign as a Class I director due to other commitments. Edström currently serves as a board member and acting CFO of A3P Biomedical. She also serves as senior adviser at Bactiguard, a Swedish company with a focus on infection prevention. She previously was a member of the board of Bactiguard and held various roles in the company, including CEO and CFO.

HAYWARD, Calif. — Biotechnology company Eikon Therapeutics appointed Robin Washington as an independent director. Washington served as senior vice president and CFO at Gilead from 2008 until her retirement in 2019. Before that, she served as CFO at Hyperion Solutions. Washington has served on the board of Alphabet since 2019 and on the board of Honeywell International since 2013.
