SPIE and Optica Name Congressional Fellow: People in the News: 06/22/22

SPIE and Optica named Clara Tibbets the 2022-2023 Arthur H. Guenther Congressional Fellow. Tibbets will serve a one-year term in Washington, D.C., as a special legislative assistant for a member of the U.S. Congress or as a staff member for a congressional committee beginning in September. SPIE and Optica are co-sponsors of the fellowship. Tibbetts will graduate with her Ph.D. from the Chemistry Department at Colorado State University this summer.

OXFORD, England — Rockley Photonics announced that CFO Mahesh Karanth will resign from his role to pursue other interests. Chad Becker, vice president of financial planning and analysis, will serve as interim CFO. Ciaran Rooney, vice president of strategic relationships, was promoted to senior vice president of corporate development. Rockley will retain an executive search firm and begin a formal search for a permanent CFO.

NORTHBROOK, Ill. — IDEX Corp. appointed Alejandro Quiroz to its board of directors, effective June 15. The addition of Quiroz increases the size of the board from 10 to 11 directors. Quiroz will serve on the board’s Compensation Committee. He currently serves as CEO Latin America for Prysmian Group, and he previously served as president of Aptiv Latin America.

MÜNSTER, Germany — Scientific and industrial camera developer XIMEA GmbH appointed Michael Cmok as a managing director. Cmok has been with Ximea since 2010, most recently serving as technical sales director.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Vision-based analytical solutions developer RDI Technologies appointed Erick Jensen CFO and Tim English senior vice president of sales. The two executives are the first new hires since RDI received a strategic investment from SFW Capital Partners in February. Most recently, Jensen served as director of finance at Mirion Technologies. English joins RDI from Sauermann Americas where he served as director of business development.
