Spectra-Physics and GSI Lumonics Sign Supply Agreement
Spectra-Physics Lasers of Mountain View, Calif., has signed an agreement with
GSI Lumonics Advanced Manufacturing Systems of Wilmington, Mass., under which it will provide high-power, diode-pumped, Q-switched lasers based on its FCbar technology. The deal is valued at more than $5 million.
Patrick L. Edsell, the chairman, president and CEO of Spectra-Physics, said the lasers would be incorporated into GSI Lumonics' systems for trimming components in semiconductor circuits.
