TOPTICA Eagleyard Fills Top R&D Position; Lumentum Names Senior VP: People in the News: 01/04/23

Lumentum Holdings named Caroline Pan senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Pan will be responsible for leading strategic and corporate marketing and communications, and Lumentum Ventures, a company-wide initiative to drive market expansion through breakthrough innovation. Pan has more than 30 years of experience across high-tech, industrial, and automotive sectors. She previously served as chief marketing officer for Bright Machines and as vice president at Honeywell International. Prior to Honeywell, she served as global vice president of emerging markets for Hewlett-Packard’s PC and printing division and spent 11 years with Intel Corp. in a variety of leadership roles.

BERLIN — TOPTICA eagleyard named Björn Globisch as its future head of R&D. Globisch will join the company R&D team this year and will become the team lead of the department in January 2024. Globisch worked for more than 10 years in the Terahertz Sensor Systems research group at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute — five of which were spent as group leader. The Physikalische Gesellschaft zu Berlin e.V. awarded him the 2022 Karl Scheel Prize in recognition of his postdoctoral scientific achievements. Alongside his work as a research group leader, he has also held a junior professorship at TU Berlin since 2019. His first year with TOPTICA eagleyard will be focused on familiarizing himself with the products and internal processes. TOPTICA eagleyard is restructuring its R&D team for 2023/2024.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Lidar software technology company Outsight appointed Steve Ehrsam as U.S. sales director. Ehrsam has more than 10 years of experience in the lidar industry, having held roles at ST Micro, Innovusion, and Quanergy. Ehrsam will expand the deployment of lidar software solutions in people-flow applications in airports, security, and smart city markets.
