SPIE's 45th Convention Ends with Positive Results
SAN DIEGO, Aug 4 -- SPIE's 45th convention ended like it began, with a steady flow of attendees visiting exhibits and exchanging information and business cards. And many of the show's exhibitors were leaving with a feeling of accomplishment as well.
A representative from first time SPIE attendee Cymer Inc. said the show was a success for her company, which was here solely for recruiting purposes. Cymer received a strong influx of applications from people looking to make a career change and the company has already decided to come back next year.
Some of the regulars at SPIE were also impressed by this year's show. A spokesperson from Marconi Applied Technologies deemed SPIE an excellent forum to show-off his company's low light level camera technology, and an agent from Newport Corp. said his company's complete line of fiber optic and laser diode test and measurement equipment was a big hit at this year's convention. A representative from Lambda Physik Inc. said the show was pretty good but should lend itself more toward fiber Bragg gratings in the future.
