Teledyne Wins $1.8 Million Order from Corning Lasertron
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 -- Teledyne Technologies Inc., an international provider of electronics and communications products, said that its Los Angeles-based Teledyne OptoElectronics unit has received a $1.8 million order from Corning Lasertron to manufacture fiber optic transmission laser modules for Corning Lasertron's customers.
The laser modules have passed initial Bellcore specifications and production is set for this quarter, once the lasers have met all of Bellcore's requirements. The contract requires delivery before the end of 2000.
This initial order supports our goal of using our experience in manufacturing sophisticated fiber optic transmitter and receiver modules for aerospace applications to support the high-volume production requirements of commercial telecommunication customers, said Robert Mehrabian, president and CEO of Teledyne Technologies.
