Autonomous Inspection Firm Percepto Raises $67M in Series C
Autonomous inspection and monitoring solution provider Percepto has raised a combined $67 million in series C financing to bring its total amount raised to over $120 million. Percepto Autonomous Inspection & Monitoring (AIM), the company’s end-to-end visual inspection solution powered by autonomous drones, robots, and AI, enables critical infrastructure sites to increase the frequency and quality of inspections via automation. The solution automates the entire visual inspection workflow, from data collection to AI-powered analysis and insights. The solution is deployed for problems including gas leaks, overheating, and infrastructure deterioration.
Prior to the series C financing, Percepto received a nationwide Beyond Line of Sight waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allowing the company to provide any U.S. critical infrastructure site with remotely operated, automated drones without the need for site-specific approvals from the FAA. The company said that the waiver removes logistical and cost barriers, such as the need for radars or people on the ground, thereby fueling the adoption of autonomous drone technology.
Percepto received a $45 million series B investment from current investor Koch Disruptive Technologies in 2020.
