Microvision's Contract Increased by US Army
BOTHELL, Wash., Aug. 14 -- Microvision Inc.'s contract with the US Army to supply helmet mounted displays has been upped from $7.8 to $8.4 million. The extra $.6 million will go to support the delivery of an additional helmet mounted display for the Virtual Cockpit Optimization Program. The unit will be shipped early next year to Huntsville, Ala., for software and vehicle integration, testing, and evaluation including human factors for a variety of rotorcraft applications. Microvision will also deliver a prototype to Boeing's Mesa, Ariz., test facility for development and integration testing on Boeing's Apache/Long Bow high performance rotorcraft.
