Tellium, Symmetricom to Partner on Optical Networks

OCEANPORT, N.J., Aug. 17 -- Tellium Inc. has announced a partnership with Symmetricom Inc. to integrate Symmetricom's high-precision synchronization clocks as a standard feature within Tellium's Aurora Optical Switch. The clocks will allow optical signals frames to be aligned correctly, removing possible signal transmission errors within an optical network
Previously, customers had to build complex synchronous networks for every optical signal, said Tom Cassa, vice president of engineering for Tellium.
