Israeli Optical Switch Firm Moves Headquarters to US
COLUMBIA, Md., Aug. 22 -- Trellis Photonics, an Israel-based developer of solid-state, all-optical networks, is opening its new corporate headquarters in Columbia, Md.
The Washington-Baltimore Corridor is a key center for the optics industry in the United States, said Tim Cahall, CEO of Trellis Photonics. We selected Columbia because of its geographic location and the extensive infrastructure for the optics industry. In addition, the Maryland/Israel Development Center provided tremendous support with the transition.
While some business will move from Israel to Columbia, the move will not decrease employment in Israel, the company said. Trellis will keep up expansion and development at its current sites in Jerusalem and Yokneam, Israel.
