HEI Gets First Fiber Alignment Order

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 25 -- HEI Inc., designer and manufacturer of ultraminiature microelectronic devices, has obtained a production order to align fiber optic devices for a major multinational customer. The order is to extend over a period of several quarters and is worth more than $3 million. Fiber alignment is a crucial step in the production of fiber optic assemblies used in applications such as high-speed Internet routing and data communications said HEI. This is the first time HEI has received a production order to perform alignment on fiber optic devices.
