Eastman Software Spins Off From Kodak Parent
BILLERICA, Mass., Aug. 28 -- Eastman Kodak Co.'s Document Imaging division is cutting loose Eastman Software Inc. Eastman Software will become an independent company backed by a privately held investment group starting in September. The company operated within Eastman Kodak's Document Imaging division as a wholly owned subsidiary focused on providing e-business solutions.
Spinning off Eastman Software underscores Document Imaging's long-range strategy to focus on our core businesses, said Candy Obourn, president of Eastman Kodak's Document Imaging division. Eastman Software has solid products, industry-leading, strategic thinking customers and significant expertise. With its independence, Eastman Software gains the strategic focus necessary for the market responsiveness essential to the dynamic Internet marketplace.
