DuPont Photomasks Installs New laser-Based Equipment

ROUND ROCK, Texas, Aug. 29 -- DuPont Photomasks Inc. (DPI) has installed three new production lines with 0.18 µm and below capability, and each anchored by an ALTA 3700 laser mask pattern generation system. The 7#36;50-million systems have been installed at DPI's facilities in Round Rock, Texas; Corbeil-Essonnes, France; and DPI Taiwan Ltd.-DPI's joint venture with UMC Group in Hsinchu City, Taiwan.
The installation of these advanced systems represents a major investment by DPI to expand our global capacity and capability to meet the increasing demand for leading-edge photomasks, said Preston Adcox, president and COO of the company. DPI has added eight laser based lines and three electron beam lines throughout the world over the past year, and will continue to invest in both technologies to meet the needs of our broad, global customer base.
