Polar Light Appoints CEO; LightPath Adds Vice President of Sales: People in the News: 3/20/24

MicroLED technology developer Polar Light Technologies has named Oskar Fajerson as CEO. Fajerson has a background in product management, sales, and marketing and a degree in material physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He has held senior positions at a wide range of high-tech companies during their growth phases, including eye-tracking company Tobii.

ORLANDO, Fla. — LightPath Technologies, a manufacturer and integrator of optical and infrared technologies, has named Jason Messerschmidt as vice president of sales. Messerschmidt joined LightPath Technologies from FLIR Systems, most recently serving as senior director of sales for US Industrial Solutions. Previously, he served as national sales manager for their fire products division.

BERLIN — Nathalie Picqué has been named the director of the Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy, which will be combined with a position as professor of physics at the Humbolt-University of Berlin. As part of her appointment, Picqué will establish the department of precision physics at the Institute. Picqué has previously served as a research group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and a researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. 

DENVER — LongPath Technologies, a developer of methane technology solutions, has added Burney Latiolais, Jr. as executive vice president of international operations, Chelsea Cassel as senior vice president of growth strategy, and Michael Chavez as vice president of growth. Latiolais has over 43 years of comprehensive oilfield experience, having previously served as CEO and president of Louisiana Tubing Tester & Centralizers. Cassel most recently held the position of North American director of sales for oil company Corva, and Chavez last served as chief revenue officer for TurnTable Tickets, Inc.

LITTLETON, Colo. — Rare earth products developer Rare Elements Resources Ltd. has appointed Ken Mushinski as its president and CEO. Mushinski, a former member of the company's board of directors, will assume the role and rejoin the board on May 1. Until then, current board member Kelli Kast assumes the role of interim president and CEO, following current president and CEO Brent Berg's departure on March 20. Mushinski previously served as vice president of corporate planning and acquisitions for General Atomics Technologies Corporation and president of uranium companies Quasar Resource and Cotter Corporation.
