QED Technologies Names Michael Mohammadi President and CEO
QED Technologies has appointed Michael Mohammadi, current vice president of global sales and business development at Thorlabs, president and CEO. Mohammadi, who will assume the position next week, takes over from outgoing president and CEO Andrew Kulawiec, who will retire.
As vice president of global sales and business development at Thorlabs, Mohammadi led the launch and development of the company’s OEM Division. He previously held sales and business development positions at Andor Technology as well as Olympus America.

Mohammadi said he aims to continue to strengthen and expand the company’s magnetorheological finishing (MRF) business. QED is a developer and provider of solutions for high performance polishing and metrology. The company supplies the semiconductor, military, space, R&D, and imaging sectors, among others.
Per the appointment, Kulawiec will remain a member of the QED board of directors.
