Jacobs Receives $230 Million NIF Contract

PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 7 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that its Jacobs Facilities Inc. subsidiary has received a subcontract from the US Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, Calif. The contract states that Jacobs Facilities will provide integration management and installation services for the Beampath Infrastructure System at the National Ignition Facility. The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is managed by the University of California on the behalf of the DoE.
Two-thirds of the $230 million cost-plus-award-fee is based on Jacobs Facilities' initial performance on the project, which includes project integration, design integration management, construction management as general contractor, and facility commissioning. Jacobs will self-perform clean assembly and installation of the Beampath hardware.
