Global Broadband Agrees to Try Quantum Bridge Optical Access System

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 -- Quantum Bridge Communications, headquartered in Andover, Mass., has set up an agreement in which Global Broadband will direct a series of tests on Quantum Bridge Communications' Optical Access System. The Optical Access System is designed to get rid of first-mile bandwidth bottlenecks and to serve as the groundwork of the e-economy, the company said. The trials will take place at one of Global's co-location facilities in a tier one city.
We have been seeking a cost-effective fiber distribution solution for enterprise customers needing high-bandwidth e-commerce and data applications in the markets we serve, said Paul S. Eldredge, president and COO of Global Broadband. We are very excited to partner with one of the leaders in optical access networking. In this trial program, we will verify our overall optical access distribution needs via Quantum Bridge's Optical Access System, testing the system's data and voice transport devices for multi-tenant unit applications.
