BFGoodrich Acquires Corning Business
BFGoodrich Co. of Charlotte, N.C., continues to expand its presence in the aerospace market with the acquisition of Marlborough, Mass.-based
Corning OCA Corp.'s Electro-Optical Sensor business.
With the agreement, star tracker systems, which are used to determine a satellite's position and to maintain its orientation in space based on its relationship to the stars, become part of BFGoodrich's product line. The company had relied on sun- and Earth-based orientation sensors. Other acquired technologies include infrared and optical countermeasures, smart weapons and tactile surveillance systems.
