New Agilent Unit Targets High-Speed Networking
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 13 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. has combined its Fiber optic Communications Division and its Integrated Circuit Business Division in order to focus on delivering high-value semiconductor solutions for the networking market. The new division is called the Networking Solutions Division and already has a wide variety of takers in the networking market for its fiber optic and IC products, the company said.
Dick Chang was chosen to lead the Networking Solutions Division. Chang has more than 30 years of experience at Hewlet-Packard Co. and Agilent where he has held positions in research, marketing, manufacturing and operations.
By combining the world's leading fiber optic transceiver operation with expertise in high-speed networking products and million-gate ASICs, we have assembled a very powerful division, said Chang. NSD has leading technology and market positions in several hot markets and, most importantly, we have an extremely talented team committed to providing market-leading solutions to our customers.
