Cierra, Honeywell Sign Tech Transfer Agreement
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 23 -- Cierra Photonics Inc. has signed a technology transfer agreement with Honeywell International Inc. that gives Cierra sole access to Honeywell's technique of making ultra-low loss optical coatings. Honeywell produces high-performance Ring Laser Gyros with proprietary optical processing methods and patented technologies. : This agreement gives Cierra access to unique technology developed over the past few years by Honeywell engineers, said Glenn Yamamoto, Cierra's chairman and CEO. We believe this technology has enormous potential to give Cierra a significant capability in developing and manufacturing optical products.  : Cierra Photonics is currently developing a series of optical components made from wafer scale integration at its new manufacturing facility in Santa Rosa, Calif.
