Cisco Supplies Telecom New Zealand with DWDM System
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Dec. 12 -- Cisco Systems Inc. has provided Telecom New Zealand with dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM) infrastructure to support the company's fiber optic backbone network. The connection, Cisco Systems' largest DWDM system in the Asia Pacific region, will act as Telecom New Zealand's main optical transport platform used to increase the speed and amount of network data, said Cisco Systems.
The multimillion-dollar installation will enable Telecom New Zealand to scale bandwidth with greater efficiency and better respond to the growing demand for high-speed networking, Cisco Systems said.
