White Electronic Designs Wins $4 Million Order for Fiber Networking Gear

PHOENIX, Jan. 8 -- White Electronic Designs Corp., supplier of semiconductor products to the wired and wireless communications industry, has received an order worth $4 million from a data communications company. The order is for development and preproduction quantities of three multichip package (MCP) memory solutions, which will be used in fiber optic based network systems. The new systems will allow the integration of high-speed data, voice, video and entertainment services across fiber optics, White Electronic Design said. Orders for preproduction quantities will ship within the next year, the company said.
This new contract is further evidence that our technologies satisfy the growing optical networks industry, said Hamid Shokrgozar, president and CEO of White Electronic Designs. We are very pleased with the continually increasing demand for our memory products.
