II-VI Reports Record Second Quarter Revenues
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 19 -- II-VI Inc. said that earnings for its second fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2000 were $2.3 million ($0.16 per share-diluted) on revenues of $31.7 million. These results compare with net earnings of $1.7 million ($0.13 per share-diluted) on revenues of $16.9 million in the second quarter of last fiscal year.
During the second quarter our eV Products division achieved record revenues, said Francis J. Kramer, president and COO of the company. Our telecommunication products revenues increased significantly over the first quarter and our core business of laser optics and component products continued to grow. Our Laser Power Corp. subsidiary has received some major military contracts through its Exotic Electro-Optics subsidiary.
