Goal Semiconductor Inc., a Montreal-based designer of mixed signal CMOS ASICs, has made an addition to its standard range of products with the
Versa1 -- a fully integrated microcontroller-based data acquisition system on a chip. The product is designed to facilitate applications that require production-based calibration by including a set of nontraditional on-board components.
Renaissance Plastics Co. announced a strategic partnership with
Lightwave Enterprises Inc. to manufacture precision plastic optics, glass/plastic hybrid systems, mechanical/optical modules and complete product assembly.

Molecular OptoElectronics Corp. announced the appointment of
Michael S. Castleman to the company's board of directors. Castleman was previously senior vice president of Lehman Brothers' private equity division and co-head of its venture capital group.
