Photonics Spectra Wins Awards
Laurin Publishing Co. has received four awards for editorial excellence in a competition conducted annually by the Northeastern Region of the American Society of Business Press Editors.
All of the awards were for material published during 1996 in
Photonics Spectra, which is the company's flagship publication with an audited worldwide circulation of 87,500. The magazine won first prize in two categories: feature articles and signed editorials. It won a second prize for spot reporting and a third prize for in-depth reporting.
The Laurin organization has approximately 85 employees at its Pittsfield, Mass., headquarters and in branch offices in the US and abroad. In addition to
Photonics Spectra, its 11 publications include two magazines,
Biophotonics International and
Europhotonics, and a four-volume, 1800-page annual directory that is the primary reference source for the photonics industry.
