New World Network Wins Permit to Connect US with Caribbean
VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada, March 6 -- New World Network, a subsidiary of Global Light, has received all of the necessary US permits to connect the ARCOS (Americas Region Caribbean Ring System) ring in Miami with 14 additional jurisdictions throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. The network will be completed by the end of the third quarter 2001, said New World Network.
"Obtaining these US permits is a key achievement for New World Network, allowing us to serve the growing communications needs of a largely underserved region," said David Warnes, president and CEO of New World Network. "For the first time ever, the Caribbean and the Americas will be connected via a single-source network, providing lower prices, customer choice, and the most advanced technologies to millions of customers in this important region."
