Zenastra Keeps up with Bandwidth Explosion with Optical Device Portfolio
ANAHEIM, Calif., March 22 – Zenastra Photonics Inc., an emerging player in integrated optical components for high-performance networking systems, announced its family of second generation multifunction integrated passive optical devices. The initial offering addresses metro dense wavelength division multiplexing optical systems and will grow to higher channel counts to address market needs, the company said. The components include a fully integrated eight-channel configurable optical add/drop multiplexer and an eight-channel variable optical attenuator multiplexer/demultiplexer.
"The explosive bandwidth demands by service providers worldwide creates a tremendous opportunity for optical component manufacturers, such as Zenastra, who can stay ahead of the rapidly evolving capacity requirements of system manufacturers," said Peter D. Scovell, president and CEO of Zenastra. "Zenastra today delivers the second phase of our comprehensive product vision, exploiting this immediate market demand for integrated passive devices and accelerating toward full passive and active component integration."
