ClearWorks Deploying Second Leg of MAN in Houston
LEAGUE CITY, Texas, May 1 -- Eagle Broadband said that its subsidiary, ClearWorks Communications, has taken delivery of more than 160,000 ft of 48-strand, single-mode optical fiber and has begun installing this fiber in the second leg of its Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) on Houston's south side. This will provide more than 47,000 homes with access to ClearWorks' Bundled Digital Services (BDS). Additional extensions of the Houston MAN are planned in the near future.
Shannon D. McLeroy, president and CEO of ClearWorks, said that plans are already in progress to connect the company's two MAN legs to give ClearWorks a loop around 90 percent of the Houston area.
