General Dynamics to Support fSONA Optical Wireless Systems
NEEDHAM, Mass., April 10 – General Dynamics Worldwide Telecommunication Systems has agreed to provide installation, technical support and maintenance of the optical wireless systems of fSONA Communications Corp. in Richmond, Canada. General Dynamics Worldwide
is a business unit of General Dynamics.
"Expanding capacity is critical to a network's ability to support devices with higher bandwidth requirements," said Dick Scott, vice president and general manager of the wireless services division of General Dynamics Worldwide Telecommunication Systems. "Our engineers and technicians will be working side-by-side with fSONA to bring customers voice, video and data
transmissions, faster and cheaper."
For the past several months, General Dynamics has worked with fSONA completing trial installations in British Columbia, New York and California. These projects will be expanding later this year to the United Kingdom, Italy and other international sites. General Dynamics will also work with fSONA to develop installation guidelines, install customer equipment and provide operation and maintenance guidelines.
