Agility Adds Brooks CIM Products to Boost Tunable Laser Production

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., April 19 -- Agility Communications Inc., has ordered $1 million worth of Brooks Automation Inc.'s Computer Integrated Manufacturing solutions to ensure volume production of Agility's lasers. Brooks will implement its MES and real-time dispatching solutions into Agility's manufacturing facilities to increase both yield and throughput in their semiconductor laser fabrication.
Developed for dense wavelength division multiplexed networks, Agility's high-power, widely tunable lasers will help communications providers increase network capacity, maximize existing network resources, streamline the planning process for network growth, and dynamically provide bandwidth, the company said.
